Connect your Xbox 360 to your computer

All you need is RJ45 network cable. Has it been into your DSL modem. The other end of the cable must go to your hub's uplink port. Connect the other end into your computer's NIC (Network Interface Card). Eventually you a second RJ-45 cable. fix it from a free port on your hub to your Xbox port.
Connecting to router
Plug an RJ-45 network cable from your modem to your router's WAN port. From router is free port, would you use to connect an RJ-45 cable to your computer's Network Interface Card (NIC). You would also need a second RJ-45 cable, which you will be necessary to connect from your router port for Xbox.
Note *
When you plug your RJ-45 cable to your network interface card in your computer you must not connect to the router port beside an uplink port connected to another router. The same applies when you connect your RJ-45 cable from your router to Xbox.
Port Forwarding
What if your router comes with a firewall built in? You would have to send both incoming and outgoing ports 8602 to the IP address (internal) of your computer. You can find the port forwarding instructions in your router manual.
Using Crossover cable for connecting devices
A cross-over cable can be used to connect two network devices. How a cable is normally used to network between two devices temporarily when you do not have access to a network hub, switch or router. You can use the crossover cable method if you already have a modem. If your modem is connected, connect the modem USB cable to your computer's USB port. The next step would be to connect an RJ-45 crossover cable to your Network Interface Card into your computer and run it to your Xbox. You will need a crossover cable if you connect to a separate Network Interface Card directly from your Xbox. If you have a hub, switch or router as a go-between device, then you must stick to a standard RJ-45 cable.
